SAINT YETRONA

In  192   a new catacomb was discovered in Rome, and there was a tomb to a young  woman.  The relics indicate that she was killed by a blow to the head which cracked the skull. Her age was about 14.  The relics came to Cardinal Merry del Val, who passed them to the Maxwell Stuart family.   They were then given to the community of Holme Eden when they were in Scotland.  When the Nuns dispersed in 197    they were given to the parish.   In 19… Fr Edmund Hatton, Msgr Gregory Turner, Dr Stitt inspected the relics and put them in the reliquary which is now beneath the front altar.  A headstone is a special case with the name of the young women is also preserved in the parish.
