The Brampton Chapel Of St.Ninian

It was during  1918 that a small room was rented over workshop in Brampton for the purpose of Sunday Mass.   In 1945, a large house at Craw Hall  – Ashmore – was purchased mostly by funds raised by parishioners, and converted into the chapel of St Ninian.  There was  living accommodation for the Silvesters, a local family, who tended the chapel. The first Mass was said there on the Sunday before Christmas 1956, and Bishop Pearson came to bless the chapel on 27 January 1957. Holy Mass is said at St. Ninian’s  each weekend and one  day through the week for many years.  On October 25 1981 the celebration of the Silver Silver Jubilee of the opening  of the chapel.  was marked by Solemn Mass concelebrated by Bishop Pearson, Fr. Francis Vidal OSB and Fr. Sigbert D’Arcy OSB..
